Accessing the IGET

Find out how to determine if individuals or sporting bodies can use us, and what resources we have to help.

Eligibility to Use IGET

Parties to a dispute may access IGET services when all parties agree for IGET to hear the dispute.

This typically occurs under two scenarios:

  1. Where there is a IGET arbitration or mediation clause in an existing agreement between the parties, or
  2. The parties enter into a specific agreement to use IGET for their dispute, once the dispute has arisen.

Agreement by Model Clause

A model clause is a standard provision that may already be embedded in the agreement between the parties, either through:

  • Incorporation in a sporting body’s regulations, rules, or a contract, or
  • A specific agreement to refer a particular case to IGET for resolution.

This model clause ensures that any disputes arising between the parties are subject to IGET's jurisdiction. Please visit this link to view our Model Clause.

Mutual Agreement

Sporting bodies, teams, and individuals may also choose to access IGET on a case-by-case basis, provided all parties to the dispute agree in writing.

This can apply even if the rules or policies of the sport do not refer to IGET or explicitly mention a different dispute resolution method.
